The warm gulf current meets the cool Labrador current outside the city of St. John’s, so predicting the weather accurately is a difficult task!
The average summer temperature in July and August is 74 degrees (21 degrees centigrade), with cool evenings (58 degrees F, 12 degrees C). Early September is slightly cooler.
While walkers should expect warm summer days, cool wet weather is always a possibility.
We suggest you bring a fleece or warm sweater, a vest, and a light rain jacket with a hood.
Sturdy walking shoes or light hiking boots are recommended. Running shoes are not suitable.
